Lifelong Missouri resident-Pros and cons of moving to and living in Missouri

I live in Missouri, in the middle of the United States.  Some things are good here and some things are not so good.  I've compiled a list for people who have never been here and are considering moving here.
Pros:
1. All seasons-rainy, cool spring
                       hot and humid summer
                       cool, leaves-changing fall
                       cold, snowy winter
2. Missouri has some naturally beautiful areas.  The hills with the trees are pretty amazing in the fall with the leaves changing.

3. Lots of outdoor activities such as: hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, rock climbing, parks, pools, etc.  We have it all!!

4. Schools are good, some great, some not so great.  I'm in the middle on the schools here.  I went to Kickapoo High School, where Brad Pitt went!  It was a great school, but in the Springfield school district there are a bunch of lower income schools.  There are also a lot of rural low-income schools.

5. Downtown.  It's great for college kids that are wanting to party.  It's becoming a little better for families, but not good yet.

6. Farmer's markets.  There are at least 5 in the area on the weekends.  This is exciting!!!

7. Lots of cheap and free kids activities.  From free movies in the summer to discounted bowling to kids eat free nights, there are lots of opportunities.

Cons:
1. Weather is unpredictable.  It snowed in May this year (2013).  That is horrible!

2. Not a lot of diversity.

3. Downtown needs work.  More family friendly opportunities needed.

4. Need more restaurant choices. There are a BUNCH of fast food and fast food Chinese options.  Need more fine dining that is quality fine dining.  Ours are lacking.

5. Housing is pretty affordable.  Definitely compared to the rest of the country.

6. Low crime. Although break-ins are becoming more and more common.

More to come....
